Bengals LB Arrested on Drunk Driving Charge
Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Rey Maualuga was arrested and charged with DUI after crashing into two parked cars and a parking meter.
It seems the bad boys of the NFL are taking full advantage of their time off.
The latest member of the Cincinnati Bengals to allegedly run afoul of the law is linebacker Rey Maualuga, who was arrested early Friday morning on charges of drunken driving and careless driving in Covington, KY, according to The Cincinnati Enquirer. The 23 year-old Oklahoma City native crashed a 2003 Pontiac Sunfire into two parked cars and a parking meter and later blew a .157 on the breathalyzer, almost twice the legal limit, police said.
Maualuga smelled of “intoxicants” and apparently had more than a little Captain in him, telling officers that he had “about six Captain and Coke drinks”. Two female acquaintances who were with Maualuga were released without charge. TMZ obtained photos of Maualuga taking a field sobriety test. He could face an NFL fine of as much as $50,000.
This isn’t Maualuga’s first brush with the law. The former Southern California linebacker was arrested his freshman year for misdemeanor battery after a drunken Halloween party got out of hand.
